Prior to the game, on the Coyotes Terrace Club Level, enjoy dinner, drinks and the opportunity to mingle with fellow Alumni, University Leadership and Special Guest, DU Head Men’s Hockey Coach, George Gwozdecky.

Someone needs to remind Gwoz to come a little farther west. The last time he met the alumni at an event in Los Angeles, Fall 2003, DU went on to win the national championship.
Coach will also be attending the luncheon event in Minneapolis during the Gopher series in Feb.
This is really neat; but just out of curiosity - why the Phoenix Chapter? Is there an insurgence of Alumni in the area? Is there connections with the Oilers/Coyotes? When I think of Gwozdecky attending - I wouldn't think of Phoenix, for whatever reasons???
Its a good question and not sure what the answer is.
This is at least the second or third year that Gwozdecky has gone out to Phoenix. Gretzky also attended at least one of these functions in the past.
DU has one recruit coming from Phoenix next season, Zac Larazza, so like California its becoming a good hockey area with Denver the closest D-1 hockey program.
The golf is pretty awesome over in Scotsdale, so perhaps he hits the links.
Perhaps there's a major hockey donor[s] in the area.
DU has a strong alumni group in Phoenix, and winter time is when many of the older, richer snowbird alumni from other cities migrate to Phoenix for the winter.
He tends to do this trip in January, which is is a nice little Denver weather break, too.
